SPORTSMED·SA sports doctors specialise in treating sporting injuries and they are also experts in musculoskeletal and arthritis problems. In treating active people of all ages, we manage general practice conditions and offer medical assessments and management of asthma and diabetes. We offer on-site X-ray facilities.

All of our sports doctors are members of Sports Medicine Australia. Ongoing professional development equips our doctors with the latest research and techniques. In addition, we are involved in education seminars and sports medicine research for the benefit of the community.

Weekend Sports Casualty Service

The clinic at Stepney is open from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm on Saturdays and Sundays, primarily as a sports casualty service. Bookings can be made on the day from 9:00 am by telephoning 8362 8111. Priority is given to urgent cases. We are often open later during the football season. If possible, please telephone before attending the clinic to avoid waiting longer than necessary.

Making and Attending an Appointment

Consultations with our SPORTSMED·SA doctors are available at our Stepney and Morphett Vale branches.

If your condition is urgent or you require immediate attention, please advise the receptionist when calling.

Appointments are available from 8:00 am to 7:00 pm on weekdays. Appointments are generally 15 minutes, but if you require a longer consultation please advise the receptionist when making your booking. You do not need a referral to see a sports doctor.

Please bring your Medicare card with you for all visits. If you have a concession card, present it to the receptionist on arrival as you may be eligible for a discount. If your injury is a Workcover case please advise the receptionist. All Third Party claims must be paid for on the day of consultation.

Fees and Charges

Payment is required on the day for all consultations and X-rays. We accept most credit cards, cheques and EFTPOS. There will be a $10.00 administration cost added if the account is not paid on the day. If there is a problem finalising your account please discuss this with the receptionist prior to your appointment.

Our X-ray fees are kept to a minimum, with gap payments comparing favourably with the larger radiological practices.
