About Us | Pilates

Pilates is ideal for anyone wishing to reduce back pain or improve posture and core strength. Pilates develops muscle control of the deep stabilising muscles of the spine - the deep abdominal, back and pelvic floor muscles. If the core is stable, the power/moving muscles can work more efficiently, allowing the body to perform better.

Class Details

Pilates classes run for four weeks with the aim of instructing the participant in the Pilates method, so they can then continue with the exercises on their own at home. This beginner programme includes an initial education session, floor exercises and gym ball exercises. Exercise sheets are provided for participants to assist with their ongoing home programme.

Classes are for 1 hour and are conducted by a physiotherapist fully trained in the Pilates method. A maximum of 6 people per class ensures individual attention.

Please bring a towel and water bottle, and wear loose fitting clothes that allow you to move freely.

Booking for and Attending Classes

For enquiries and bookings contact reception at the Goodwood Branch by telephoning 8271 3803.

Classes are at the Goodwood Branch on four consecutive Wednesdays from 5:45 - 6:45 pm.

It is not necessary for private clients to have a referral.

Workcover and Third Party patients need a referral from their GP or physiotherapist and must have prior approval from their case manager. In the event of a claim not being accepted the client is personally responsible for any costs incurred.

Fees

The four week programme is $80.00, payable prior to commencement. Class costs may be covered by private health funds ‘extras’ cover.
