How to Apply

In order to apply for the Sports Surgery & Arthroplasty Fellowship, you must hold a recognised qualification that is accepted by the Medical Board of SA.

Application forms for the fellowship can be downloaded via the PDF document from this website. Applicants for the Fellowship position should state clearly the commencement date of the fellowship that you are applying for and which out of the two fellowships you are applying for, eg Dr Keene/Dr Oakeshott/Dr Martin 1 st August, 2010 or Dr Paterson/Dr Spriggins 1 st August, 2010. All fellowships at SPORTSMED·SA are for a 12 month duration.

Other documentation, details that should be included in the application are as follows:-

Curriculum Vitae:
- Qualifications (including year completing orthopaedic training) eg. undergraduate, post-graduate, higher qualifications in orthopaedics.
- Previous surgical experience (including operation log).
- Previous and current research activities.
- Publications (including copies and references of journals).
- Any plans between completion of orthopaedic training and commencement of fellowship.
- Plans following completion of fellowship at SPORTSMED·SA.
Three (3) current written references: Must be included with your application specifically confirming your previous clinical experience, proficiency in surgical technique and suitability for this Fellowship. E-mail address and contact phone number of referees must also be included.
Evidence of English
Two (2) current passport sized photograph.

Failure to include any items or information will limit chance of success and points will be lost for non inclusion of the request documents and information.

Following a successful application, the Fellow would be required to enter a written contract with SPORTSMED·SA and overseas fellows would be required to sign an agreement as outlined by the AOA re leaving Australia following the completion of the fellowship.

Position Vacant

The position for the Sports Surgery & Arthroplasty Fellowship is appointed two years in advance. Applications for two fellowships positions commencing the 1st August 2010, for a 12 month period close on the 1st July, 2008.
