The Tour Down Under is back on next year at the World Tour Level!

The Santos Festival of Cycling is being held January 13-22.

This is the first UCI Women’s World Tour Stage Race to be held in the southern hemisphere. They have three stages and this year they will tackle the infamous Corkscrew climb! While the rider rosters haven’t been released yet you’re bound to see some of the best female cyclists in the world racing around, perhaps you’ll even see current World Champion Annemiek Van Vleuten or her team mate, former Australian Champion, Sarah Gigante.

The men’s race has five stages including the first ever ascent of Mt Lofty. Again, you will be witnessing some of the world’s very best in action.

The racing kicks off with the extra stage, the Schwalbe Classic, with both men and women racing around a fast city circuit on a Saturday evening to begin building the heat.

The Challenge Tour is also back on! Save Friday the 20th of January to test yourself in either the 123 km option or the 83 km option.

Take in Norton Summit, Corkscrew and Checker Hill as you ride between Norwood and Campbelltown. In an event first the ride will be held on closed roads, with timing, nutrition stops and mechanical support also provided for all participants!

Finish and unwind in the festival atmosphere that will be set up in Campbelltown at the finish and you can relive all the glory of the day between your riding mates and friends/family before watching the pros finish.

It is an incredible opportunity to have a race of this calibre showcasing the beauty of Adelaide and the greater South Australian areas that these riders traverse. It’s especially exciting now that the race also includes professional women at the very top of their sport with equal prize money.

The event village will again be in Victoria Park/ Tarntanyangga. There will be live music, pop up bars, family zones and cooking demonstrations by Sprout.

Outside the event village, there will be other brands with pop up stores and hosted rides every day!

You don’t want to miss this.
